Cycle Addict: The Urgh Factor

Updated: Nov 2, 2018

This is one of my new favorite and all too often expressions. Urgh. Just trying to get my website and now this blog to do what I want it to do, has produced this expression more times than I would like to admit. But, there you go. It is what it is. That aside, as a cycling addict in Victoria, the weather has not been as inviting as I would like. There is no snow like in many other parts of this country but a typical rain that is common on the West Coast. Cycling in rain gear has it's fun aspects too though. I like the rain pants, rain helmet cover, rain jacket, rain booties and extra gloves that allow cycling in the wet elements. There is a feeling of adventure and pride in tackling whatever the wind, rain, road spatter may come my way. Thankfully, I have never used Urgh to describe my feelings under these conditions. I do have to say that when riding in the rain, it sure is more pleasant when I get to ride with my cycling peeps. We all agree that sharing in this "misadventure" makes it more fun. And a stop for a coffee or a bowl of hot soup at a funky little cafe, is a great reward. The hardest part is getting back on the bike to get home, but once there, there is nothing like a nice hot shower.

So now I I will go back to trying to make this a proper Blog, so bare with me. And as you see each new page appear, know that my new word, Urgh, has been used many times in the process (ha ha).

Cycle Addict: A Night Rider

One of my favorite types of rides is the Night Ride. These are particularly fun when there is a group of us. We typically like to ride along the seaside or along the Lochside or Galloping Goose trails

Cycle Addict

Hi, I'm Cindy. And that's right, I am a Cycle Addict. I wake up in the morning and my first thought is "where can I cycle today". Or "what great cycle trip can I plan that's to somewhere different". T
