Experience Cycling Tours Victoria is excited to offer this curated and inspiring three-day, 270-km, moderate-difficulty tour that truly displays the natural, rich diversity and cycling paradise of South Vancouver Island. The route's mix of paved/gravel roads and trails  provides a healthy balance of road riding and gravel riding!

The tour departs Victoria along the impressive Galloping Goose and Colquitz River trails and backroads. We catch a ferry to Millbay where our route continues through rolling countryside and rainforests to picturesque village of Cowichan Bay where we will have our first nights stay.

The next days ride will take us to Cowichan Lake via the Cowichan Valley Trail which is a part of the rail trails of BC. After arriving we will check into our hotel and then head into the town for a small tour and dinner on the Lake

before returning to our Lake Cowichan hotel for the night.

This next days journey is a 75 km ride around Cowichan Lake. There are several stops of interest along this mostly  gravel road including a cute area called Youbou where Elk are often seen walking along the road. As well we will stop at Honeymoon Bay for refreshments. After an awesome day of riding we will head back to our hotel in Lake Cowichan.

​

For our final leg and longest part of the tour, just under 100 kms, we head along the south side of the Cowichan valley trail. The group will cross several impressive trestles including the well-known Kinsol Trestle, then bike along beautiful Shawnigan Lake to Millbay for our second ferry ride to Brentwood Bay and arriving back in Victoria on the famous Lochside Trail.

* No car support; riders are responsible for carrying their own gear and supplies.

   NOTE: Tour guides include a certified bike mechanic.
